Requirements for the 2008-10 and 2010-12 catalogs

The Minor in Psychology requires 21 hours in psychology course work (three required courses and four elective courses) and a statistics course. Two of the elective courses must be at the 200-level or above (for a total of 6 hours). According to University policy, all courses for the Minor must be taken for a letter grade; pass/fail is not an option.

MAT 250 Introduction to Probability and Statistics

SOC 275 Social Statistics
  or an approved transfer statistics course (consult department advisor)

Elective Courses

Any psychology course may be taken as one of the four elective courses; however, the following courses WILL NOT COUNT as an elective for the Minor:

PSY 390 Advanced Research Apprenticeship

Note: Course work in Sociology, Anthropology, or Social Work does not count toward the Minor in Psychology, except for PSY/SOC 123 Human Sexuality and PSY/SOC 223 Social Psychology and SOC 275 Social Statistics (if taken for the statistics requirement). Education majors seeking a psychology endorsement by completing a Minor in Psychology cannot use PSY 215 Educational Psychology as one of the courses for endorsement.
