Creating a Slide Show

Use the template to start
In the New Presentation box, select a Presentation Design, and select "OK"
Choose an "autolayout" (format) for your first slide
Click on the boxes to add your text
Choose "Insert, New Slide" for your next slide

Changing Views

Click the up and down arrows (or page-up and page-down) to change slides

Editing Slides

To delete a slide, choose "Edit, Delete Slide"
To insert a slide, choose "Insert, New Slide"

When in Slide Sorter view, position the cursor between the two slides where you want the new slide

Viewing a Slide Show

Save your presentation
Select the first slide
Choose "View, Slide Show, Show" (or click the slide show button)
Left click to advance to the next slide
Right click to get menu ("go to," pen, end show)

Additional Features

Transitions

Creates fancy transitions between slides
In Slide Sorter View, choose transition from drop-down menu
Build Effects
Allows you to control when slide elements get revealed
In Slide Sorter View, choose build effect from drop-down menu

PowerPoint Activity

Go through your notes
Make one slide for each SPSS procedure we have covered in class (e.g., Crosstabs, One-Way ANOVA)
For your bullet list, write two or three important things to know about each procedure (e.g., when to use it, how to interpret, etc.)
